Bud served on the Gatlinburg Chamber of Commerce and was a Director and Officer on the board for many years. Bud was always involved in his community and willing to lend his support in the community. Bud served as a Gatlinburg City Commissioner from 1988 until 1993. Bud also served on the Walters State Community College Foundation Board and played an active role in fund-raising and development of the Sevier County Campus. He most recently served on the following boards, Gatlinburg Planning Commission, Gatlinburg Public Building Authority, Sevier County Economic Council, Sevier County Public Building Authority, Sevier County Industrial Development Board. Tourism Award for his significant contributions to the promotion, growth and success of tourism in the City of Gatlinburg. Born September 22, 1950, to the late Luther "Coot" and Stella Ogle, Bud was a native Gatlinburg resident and at the early age of eight, began working in the family business while attending Pi Beta Phi Elementary School.

He spent most of his high school years at the Columbia Military Academy then returned home and graduated from Gatlinburg Pittman High School in 1968. After graduation, he began managing the family's motels and over the years has continued to promote the growth of tourism through his family businesses. He was a part of the graduating class of 1961 at Holston High School.

Family and friends will meet 1PM Saturday, September 11, 2021 in Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery, Kingston Pike for graveside service and interment with Dr. Keith Thornton officiating. Bud's life exemplified the importance he placed on faith and dedication to his family. Bud was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, Gatlinburg and served many years as a Deacon and Trustee. Carlee Barnwell Wyatt, 80, of Gatlinburg, passed away on Friday, Dec. 21, 2018. She was born on Nov. 8, 1938, to her parents, Carl and Melba Barnwell, and grew up in the Tabor community of Crossville. Carlee married the love of her life, Hoy Wyatt, in June 1954.
